I don't know what to do on my first dates in Malaysia
First dates are designed to check your compatibility
"First dates are inherently stressful — it's difficult to meet new people, let alone someone you hope likes you. Whether you're using our service or a social dating app, because you're meeting with someone for the first time, you should always proceed with caution. Avoid any activity that you find frightening or stressful.
First dates are intended to test your compatibility, it is critical to do something you enjoy. There's no reason to participate in any dating schedule that puts you way out of your comfort zone.
We've consolidated a list of first date ideas, some of which are less expensive and more low-key than others. All of these ideas have distinct benefits, but most importantly, they have the recommendation of dating experts because they spark important conversations.
Well, Let's set a date with your match and prepare to have a good time.
A good first date is an art, coffee art or tea art
Because many people are reducing or eliminating their consumption of alcohol, going on a first date that does not involve alcohol is always a good idea. According to eHarmony's 2022 Happiness Index, 94% of single daters are interested in dating someone who does not drink. A first date that doesn't end in a hangover? How nice!
Getting a coffee or tea at a local establishment that is quiet enough to actually talk is one of the most secure first date locations.
Dine at your date's preferred restaurant
If you're the one selecting the venue, find out what the person's favourite cuisine is and find a restaurant that serves it. This demonstrates that you are a curious partner who is willing to do things that the other person enjoys, and it starts a great conversation.
It also opens up the possibility of more date ideas. Perhaps you decide to try and rank a new restaurant every time you go out. If you decide to go on a second date, each of you can take turns to take the lead and research and reserve a table at a restaurant that serves the type of food you prefer. Sounds fair?
Active first dates
Go ice skating. Skating is a classic date activity, whether on ice or on roller skates. If you're not an expert skater, you can hold hands and laugh at each other's wobbling. Stop for hot cocoa or a snack afterward to keep the party going. Here are a few ice skating rinks in Malaysia.
Sunway Pyramid Ice
The Sunway Pyramid mall was built in 1997, and with it came the first and most popular ice skating rink in Malaysia! Indeed, many locals have visited it at least once as children or have brought their children here. There are even friendly, professional trainers on hand to assist you in learning how to navigate on ice! Please keep in mind that the ice rink can get quite crowded on weekends and public holidays, so we recommend visiting on a weekday to have more space to skate around.
Blue Ice Skating Rink, 163 Retail Park
The 163 Retail Park mall in Mont Kiara, which opened early 2023, is the newest kid on the block. The rink is on the smaller side, but it is adequate for a casual skate date or a few hours of fun. You can even take an IG-worthy shot here as you show off your skating skills, thanks to the bright neon light signage lining the walls!
Icescape
Icescape is Malaysia's first Olympic-sized ice skating rink. One side of the massive rink, which opened in 2014, has glass windows that allow you to enjoy gorgeous views of the lush greenery outside while spending your entire day leisurely skating here. The rink also hosts premier skating performance events and competitions, as well as a variety of lessons designed for all levels of skating experience!
Go hiking. For those who don't mind the humidity and sweat, hiking is an opportunity for you to get closer to the nature-loving side of him or her.
Hold on a moment, please don't misunderstand. We're not suggesting a full-day excursion or even an overnight camping trip. A near by forest reserve or garden should do the job. Just remember to prepare insect repellents and water for two! Here are a few recommendations based on your location.
